Now the Hero/Nawr Yr Arwr

I ran into Owen Griffiths the other morning, who has created the GRAFT garden based on Frank Brnagwyn’s Empire panels as part of Marc Rees’ Now the Hero. Marc and Owen asked me to write a short piece for the programme notes, which I was thrilled to do, entitled ‘Theatres of War’. It combines thoughts on war, performance, memory, and gardens (or tries to!) – things that occupy me a lot in my own research. Owen gave me a copy of the programme hot off the press, which was very exciting. Now I’m really looking forward to seeing the production later this week. It’s a great event for the city.
